I think you should check the European engines, they might contain mistakes. And I don't know for what market the 2.3 is, it was never sold with a 2.3 as far as I know.

Does the Escort 90-92 have the 1.3 engine? The website of Cars-Data says that Ford Escort 90-92 didn't had a 1.3 engine and that its lowest engine was a 1.4 engine.
