Wow...way to ripoff Volkswagen with that front end...
New images...maybe not so much of a copy, more like a bit inspired by it.
With these new images, I'd like to add to my previous statement. It looks like a copy of the first generation Infiniti FX with a Dodge Journey/Fiat Freemont front end.

Love the look of this car. Further proof that some of the best looking cars come out of some of the smallest countries.

Prologue, indeed. This concept ended up becoming the production 3008 a year later.
Indeed, and of course, two other late 90's Oldsmobiles had design themes inspired by this and the production Aurora, the Alero and Intrigue share design ques that can be found on this concept.

Was originally intended to be the successor to the Eighty-Eight, but ended up re-engineered into the second generation Aurora.
The second generation Aurora was supposed to continue based on what was supposed to be the next Buick Riviera. But, when Buick cancelled it, the Aurora was forced to remain on the G-Body, and the design of the Antares was, in turn, the basis for the second (and final) iteration of the Aurora. |

Shouldn't 'captive imports' retain their initial country of origin? In that case, this would be Origin: Japan (Mitsubishi Galant Λ (Lambda)?

FYI: Was also shown in Detroit in 2006 as the Saturn PreVue Concept. Differences were very limited, and amount to Saturn badges replacing the Opel ones, a spoiler on the rear, over top of where the Opel badge was, a Saturn badge placed lower on the rear liftgate, and the PreVue nameplating next to the left tailight.

I'll just leave this disappointing piece of news here. |

Yikes! It's like a Lotus on steroids!

First this, then Nissan rebadges it as the Roox, now Mazda has their own version called the Flairwagon.
Yeah, I kid you not. carscoop.blogspot.com/2012/06/mazda-rebadges-suzuki-palette-and-calls.html |

Looks like they fused together a bunch of Shelby cars, mainly the Cobra and Daytona Coupe...
Now that I think of it, it looks like they copied a little of the side of a Hyundai Sonata/i40, too (primarily the side windows).
Peugeot copy nose, Daewoo Lacetti hatchback taillights, Hyundai ix35/Tuscon side...very ugly combination, let alone a copy.
For those who don't know, it's a locally produced licensed version of the Dacia Logan.
Looks like a combination of a Mercedes-Benz GL and a Mitsubishi Outlander.
Looks like they indirectly copied the back end of the Fiat Freemont. Various parts are shaped differently, but the look and arrangement is somewhat similar.
Very strange looking...front looks like a weird fusion of Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz, with Toyota Sienna taillights.
Are those Peugeot 206 taillights?
Mercedes-Benz copycat.

Funny thing is, as much as I think it's ridiculous how Chinese Auto Makers can't make their own design vehicle without some sort of joint venture, I'm actually quite impressed wit the attention to detail on how they copied this.
In fact, I actually think the control layout on the center stack is actually done better on the copy. I first saw this a year or so ago, and actually thought that maybe they bought the tooling of this generation of RX after it was discontinued. That is, especially since usually, when an automaker buys the tooling for production of an older model, it's typically made with Mitsubishi engines (which this has). I've only read that it's assumed that it's a copy. Maybe it's actually a licensed continuation, and the company is keeping whether it is or not to itself. Another mystery of the Chinese aotu industry, perhaps? It's quite close, and it's actually impressive, if you look at it the right way. Usually a company completely screws up copying a part of a vehicle, but this is almost spot on. |

Am I the only one that sees a lot of Hyundai Santa Fe blended with Suzuki Grand Vitara in this?
Looks like another modern interpretation of the Bugatti Atlantic. I like it.

Wow...way to rip off the Porsche Cayenne (whole body), Audi Q7 (headlights and bumper vents) and Jaguar (grille)...
Typical China. Oh, and FYI: It's based on Hyundai Santa Fe underpinnings. -- Last edit: 2012-06-13 21:29:28 |

The Saibao. The basis for the all electric Coda.

Redone [W245] B-Klasse?

Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse clone/copy?

Looks like a Hyundai Genesis clone with the nose of a recent Mazda concept.
