I believe this was the concept that lead to the production of the SD1.

That is plausible explanation.

Why? Volkswagen of course

VW at least make the "fun" Sirocco coupe.
But yeah, it looks like VW is annoyed by Skoda sucess so it is only brand in VW group without sport 3-door body (no, Citigo 3dr really doesnt count).

I am still wondering why Skoda did not make any cool car after Felicia Fun. This could be a nice sucessor.

It's from the 2nd world war. French put yellow lights to do a difference with german and after that was obligatory until 1993

Oh, that is a clever idea. I guess it was pointless after the WWII ended, but yellow light is far less irritating and annoying than the xenon lights these days.

The position of rear lights is odd for me, but on the other hand I like the front end with those double headlights a lot. Anyways, perhaps Rinspeed could know why there are yellow lights on older french cars?

I'm quite sure the ATS is a regular 4-door sedan.

I just googled it and youre absolutely right.

I see that the ATS is not a "real" Hatchback, because Hatchbacks have a rear hatch that also lifts the window up.
However we generally still call it Hatchback if the rear is very short and the window close to the end. This also depends on country.
...

Oh, okay then, I see it is a thing that depends on state, because in CZ we have it as that:
Hatchback - car with end cutted off and rear window open with trunk - for example Golf, Astra, Ibiza, Fabia
Liftback - something between hatchback an sedan. It have openable rear window together with trunk, but it is shaped moreless like a sedan - Passat, Vectra, Octavia
Fastback - it is not a regular word in CZ (mostly between US cars enthusiasts, which I am), but since the Bullit Mustang is a great example of a Fastback, I use it personally only for coupes without clear border of cabin and trunk - 1980s Rapid

EDIT: I just translated the word "hatch" to see what it means. It sounds funny, something like entrance to a submarine. BTW we dont have for hatchback nor liftback our own words, but for fastback we use phrase "Kupé se splývavou zádí" - "Coupe with merged back"

The 309 GLD was the most expensive Peugeot ever sold in here. New one cost back in 1988 about 63 885 €, and used ones were sold without problem for +70k.

They later did some upgrades to safety, but what a crazy coincidence, Ezuro NCAP upgrade the rating. According to old rating the "new" version should get 3 stars, but in new one it did not succeed.

en.wheelsage.org/azlk/2141/ There is a Lada Aleko front picture and an Aleko S (91-92) rear picture, but I don't know if they are what you are looking for.

Nice find Desscythe17! I intentionaly tried to find SL pictures to differ it from standard eastern model, but still. You can add your variant (2141) of the name in secondary model. Soviet cars often used "nonsencial" number naming, but I know that there is system in it, depending on size, body type, engine etc.
EDIT: There it is: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_model_numbering_system_in_the_Soviet_Union_and_Russia
