I just saw this parked at my local golf clubhouse the other day, it was a JDM-spec Botswana-registered car. One weird thing as well is that I once saw a Nissan Elgrand really up-close! I was looking around the car and I was NOT in Japan! It was also at the same clubhouse parked, but fitted with a Zimbabwe plate. I thought the Nissan Elgrand would be a big minivan, but it was just medium-sized.

There are some JDM cars here in the UK as well, I've seen multiple Nissan Elgrands, Toyota Alphards, and even a Ford Freda once.

Why is this called the Honda Jazz in the UK (and, I assume, Europe) but Honda Fit elsewhere?

I think it has something to do with the Honda City from the 80s being sold as Honda Jazz in Europe. A completely unrelated 3-door SUV, which was essentially a rebadged Isuzu MU/Amigo/Opel Frontera, was sold as Honda Jazz in Japan. -- Last edit: 2018-11-11 21:46:29 |
