The model pictured here is a late one, at least from 1952, because of the thick bootlid.
The first version had no boot at all, it was introduced in 1935.
And then in circa 1947 the latteral flaps on the bonnet were replaced by a grille.

I will research more about these changes and try to correct this page and add these variations as different models when I got time

In cyrillic it's "ХАДИ", shouldn't it be translated as "KhADI" ?

BAIC is for Beijing Automotive. You can see also Beijing at the rear of the BJ20

Right, but the BJ20 has the BAIC logo in the front, while here the only visible logo is reading "Beijing", so I don't know...

i will see that. Some Senova have the BAIC logo for example. I have begin BJ40 but my work now is to update all the BAIC page not only BJ40.

The problem with most of these Chinese manufacturers is that they are doing like Chrysler did in the 80s/90s with its pentastar : a unique logo for several brands...

Built by BAIC, but "Beijing" can clearly be read in the front and rear pics. Maybe we should keep it under BAIC, but change the make to Beijing to be more consistant?

It seems that Senova, Huansu and Weiwang are brands of their own. I'd understand the complexity of separating them all, but maybe we can split Huansu because it got a different logo?
Also, the electric cars that are neither of the brands mentioned above seems to be sold under the BJEV (北汽新能源) brand

How the name of this car got approved, I will never know.

The same happened with Tesla's range : the Model S, Model 3 (supposed to be named Model E, but the name was already taken by Ford), and Model X. And the pun WAS intended by Tesla.

In China, Škoda cars are built by the Shanghai Volkswagen joint venture, and not the FAW-Volkswagen one.
Moreover, on the bonnet of this car, on the side, you car read "上海大众汽车" ("Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive")

Hyundai wanted to enter the Mexican market, so it got a deal with Chrysler to sell there their cars under the well-established Dodge brand. While the first generation Dodge Attitude (3rd gen Hyundai Accent) got Dodge badges, this one keeps the original Hyundai logo.

Probably one of the laziest badge engineering ever

I think that model name depends of style of the van.
Like there are Transporter, Kombi, Microbus and that and Typ 2/T1 is chassis.

Name also depends of the country where it is sold

Rinspeed a écrit

i don't know how i could name it. I just want a name for all the variants of TYp 2 T1 (of course with passenger, not commercial models)

I believe we could use the names used in its own country Germany. I believe there were 3 for the minivan T1 : Kleinbus, Kombi and Samba. The one pictured here is Samba because of the chrome, but I don't know the differences between the Kleinbus and Kombi, maybe the number of seats.
Also we should maybe split it model-year wise, the light indicators appeared and then changed in size, and the early model had a bigger engine door and no boot door, like here : i.pinimg.com/736x/b9/c2/36/b9c236f013f5431d56613933c33b610e.jpg
