Import by Fullbore Motors started in 1991, but the cars bore their original "Hindustan Ambassador" name. The updated "Fullbore Mark 10" was introduced later, but I don't know when exactly. Oldest year I've found is 1996. Imports stopped along the company, in 1998.

According to Wikipedia, this concept (and the Eco-Sprinter) were first shown in 1994 at the press conference when the MCC joint venture was launched. If you google around, there's pictures of these concepts with what looks like Smart badges, but not sure if those were on the initial car. The ones i saw have a tiny Mercedes tristar with the blue border, and it also got the normal star on the wheel rims. Maybe we could give the double branding? |
||
Isn't that a Mercedes rather than a Smart?

Built by BYD. But i don't know in which plant.

Origin should probably be China, looks to be a rebadged Golden Dragon X5. Maybe not a X5, but definitely a Golden Dragon. On their website they claim to only make CKD and rebuilt vehicles. |
