I'm pretty sure that, according to McLaren, the MP4 is not part of the Spyder's name, it's simply 12C Spyder.

after verification the only error is spider instead of spyder but MP4 is in the name. at the back : www.mclarenautomotive.com/uk/insider/Default.aspx
