Desscythe17 2020-05-04 10:56 | Maki a écrit Does the V6 Galant really deserve its own page? Other than the taillights, I don't see any differences between it and the 4-cylinder model. To me different taillights are always sufficient to create a separate page.

Desscythe17 2017-12-02 11:42 | Nothing says "business is booming" like copying the grille of a Russian car... www.webcarstory.com/voiture.php?id=30229 P.S. I originally meant this as a joke, but after some research, the oldest Lada concept I could find with this grille was from 2012, whereas the oldest Mitsubishi concept with the same detail was from 2013.
Desscythe17 2016-04-09 08:40 | carcrasher88 a écrit Gotta say, it looks like Mitsubishi has really done a great job with this refresh. Kinda looks as if it should have been like this in the first place. But, I guess it was probably smart for them to start the way they did see how well the car would do, before deciding if it was worth updating it. Fortunately, the Mirage has been selling pretty well in the US market. I've been seeing quite a few around myself. And, if these updates are really as much of an improvement as they say they are, I imagine this and the new sedan version will sell even better. Oh, it's still extremely cheap. It just tries to hide it better. -- Last edit: 2016-04-09 09:26:48

Desscythe17 2015-10-08 17:23 | Called Mitsubishi Galant Σ for the 1988 model year.
Desscythe17 2015-10-07 17:06 | JFK a écrit I can be wrong, but this was proably sold in europe as Space Wagon. Not sure about the LRV version though. And I found out that there was japan only turbocharged limited edition called Resort Runner GT. The LRV was sold as Space Runner in Europe. The Resort Runner GT had the Lancer Evo/Galant VR-4 engine at that time. Why? Because why not. -- Last edit: 2015-10-07 17:08:09

Desscythe17 2015-10-01 17:22 | JFK a écrit Well USA is (at least in the eyes of eastern coutries) area with tougher requiments. Yes exactly, and expectations are completely different as well. In the US, if a car stays the same for too long (and especially in a highly competitive sedan segment), people won't buy it anymore because they know they can get something better, and are willing to pay for it. In India on the other hand, people want a car they can afford with some basic options. As most people there will never buy a fully equipped car, it's not necessary to keep updating a car. What Mitsubishi did with the Lancer is a strange move. It doesn't seem the right market for such an action (especially if you consider the Lancer has disappeared from the Japanese market, where something like this occurs more often), and it wasn't that popular compared to its competition anyway. Of course, I have no actual experience with American or Indian consumers, but I'm just judging on the basis of key trends for those markets.
JFK 2015-10-01 16:37 | carcrasher88 a écrit Well, when you consider the Russians, Indians, and Chinese have been getting decades out of older car designs, anything's possible with just the right amount of updating. Well USA is (at least in the eyes of eastern coutries) area with tougher requiments. In Russia, you need to have tough car (as I say, every soviet car is more or less suitable for off-roading) with no eletrical gadgets, So what you would update, when you have cheap car that can ride on 76 octane petrol with lot of spare parts and easy to repair... That is why are eastern new car markets filled with slightly or not at all updated vehicles that run production more than 15 years. But europeans see USA as a country that proably needs modern cars with newest and coolest gadgets. That is proably why Desscythe17 was curious about the fact that car this old is still slightly facelifted than replaced by new model. But yes, it is fact that USA is a country that was able to produce sport car with solid rear axle in 21st century, and not that much things objectively changed in US market.

2015-10-01 02:46 | Well, when you consider the Russians, Indians, and Chinese have been getting decades out of older car designs, anything's possible with just the right amount of updating. Plus, most auto journalists consider the Mirage to be a car from the 90's in a modern world that is actually selling decently, so why not?
Desscythe17 2015-09-30 20:50 | If you believe it, the Lancer has been facelifted for the US-market for 2016. They seem to think they can get even more out of a 8 year old car.
