According to Wikipedia, this concept (and the Eco-Sprinter) were first shown in 1994 at the press conference when the MCC joint venture was launched.
If you google around, there's pictures of these concepts with what looks like Smart badges, but not sure if those were on the initial car.

The ones i saw have a tiny Mercedes tristar with the blue border, and it also got the normal star on the wheel rims. Maybe we could give the double branding?
