I'm changing origin to Australia : "Despite the Chevrolet branding, the YGM1, like the production car, was the work of GM's Australian arm, Holden.[4][5] Along with the styling, Holden executed most of the engineering work and were responsible for devising the "Cruze" nameplate." ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Cruze#Nameplate_disambiguation )

I think that's only about the rebranded version. The Suzuki Swift/Ignis is definitely a Suzuki product, and is meant to look like a bigger Suzuki Kei. As the Chevrolet Cruze is just a rebadged version of the Suzuki, I believe it should remain Japanese origin.

Yes I was specifically talking about the Chevrolet/Holden Cruze versions. To me there is substantial differences compared to original Suzuki version, but I agree this is debatable
