I feel this is the right time to show you this funny 1980s promo for Skoda from Netherlands. Rapid seems like some sort of special NL-market version, maybe you would like to add it ;)

That's actually an interesting commercial. The title and the song are "Wie slim is, rijdt Skoda" which means "Those who are smart, drive a Skoda". You can actually see the current slogan, "Volg de Skoda rijder/Follow the Skoda driver" has its roots in this old slogan.

I'll translate the text on the cars as well:
#1: De sportieve : The sporty
#2: De zuinige : The fuel-efficient
#3: De betrouwbare : The reliable
#4: De rappe : Can mean both quick as well as cool -> By the way, car #4 looks like its front bumper is already falling off in the commercial.
#5: De ruime : The roomy

I don't know if the Rapid is a special edition, but I can look it up.
EDIT: Can't find anything about a special edition for the Netherlands, I did however find the "Favorit Solitair and Favorit Silverline", which both had different taillights from the regular Favorit in their pictures.

Too bad they're already using the Rapid name for the most boring car in the world..

Well well well well well, what do we have here?

If this will go to production it will be a first 21st century Škoda, that I really, really like! The color really suits it aswell.
