like i wonder why they went after the noble (which is trying to be a smart but has styling of it's own) and not THIS
if this was debadged i would probably think it was a smart

Because they can't go after cars that aren't sold in a western market.
Copyright is a funny thing in China, and as a western brand it's almost impossible to sue a Chinese company for copying you.

they didn't even TRY to be unique with this one... blatant smart forfour ripoff, im so surprised mercedes didn't sue over this
(unless of course this is a licensed version, in which case origin should be germany)

It's a license-built Lichi S350, itself a blatant copy of the Smart

the "Luba" model name is missing.
Chinese name is "北京陆霸"

Faux Jeep Cherokee front end, Toyota FJ Cruiser-like rear pillar with matching blind spot, and faux Jaguar F-Type taillights.

Seems many companies, Chinese or not, have been copying the F-Type taillights lately.

Seeing that BAW (Beijing Auto Works) is part of Beijing Auto Group (who continued production of the XJ Cherokee under a joint venture with the then DaimlerChrysler (said venture, minus the Chrysler art, still exists today)), it's obvious that this is not an unauthorized copy, but a legitimate continued production of the XJ Cherokee.
