No. It's Mark 2. Big luxury ones have Roman numeral's like Mark IX or Mark X, but Mark 1 and 2 have 'normal' numbers as their model names.

We need to work out a proper syntax for model names like this. Some Jaguars are written as 'Mark IX' while this one is written as 'Mark 2'. I'm not entirely sure which one is right (or if it even matters) but consistency would be appreciated.

Crossover should be a different category. They are often not suitable for off-road use, whereas SUV's often are.

Well, word has it that the ATS and CTS will be replaced by two new models with the 'CT' nameplating, specifically a CT3 and CT4 to replace the ATS (not sure if the 3 would be the sedan and 4 the coupe, similar to BMW, or perhaps the reverse), and a CT5 to replace the CTS.

It also seems like the Japanese brands are the only ones sticking to their guns with cars, along with crossovers and SUVs. Mitsubishi's sticking with the Mirage and Mirage G4 for the long run, even with just three CUVs alongside it in the lineup.

Honda's keeping a great mix in their lineup, with CUVs based on or closely related to their cars, but not at the expense of the cars (Fit/HR-V, Civic/CR-V, Accord/Pilot), plus a truck and a minivan (Honda being only one of two brands in the US offering a pickup and a minivan in their lineup, the other being Toyota, because I'm not sure if the Transit Connect truly fits as a minivan), and will likely benefit the most from other company's product cuts.

Ford's cuts are pretty much confirmed.

From what I've heard ONE of the three (300, Charger, Challenger) will get cut, with replacements for the other two coming in 2021.

I've heard about GM considering cutting the Sonic, Impala, Volt and XTS, but nothing about the LaCrosse or CT6. The XTS needs to go, anyway. It really doesn't make sense to have two similarly sized sedans in the lineup, even if one is FWD and the other RWD. Kinda similar to why Lexus is considering cutting the GS and keeping the ES.

Still, the automakers are gonna eventually kill the US auto market with crossovers and SUVs, especially when gas prices are on the climb once again...and, even after the summer season is over, they're not likely to go back down as much as they have.

I agree, it seems very unwise for all of them to go after the same thing. Even if there is a crossover craze right now, I don't think there is unlimited demand for them. And like you say, if the gas prices climb again, consumers will be running back to economic cars, and these companies will just look stupid with showrooms full of SUVs.

Regarding the cars I mentioned, it's just straight out of the Autoblog articles, might not be 100% accurate. Apparently the boss at Cadillac recently changed, and the old one was very reluctant to get rid of all those sedans. Now that there is someone new, it seems likely that Cadillac will cut at least the XTS, perhaps also the CTS and ATS. I would be surprised if they discontinue the CT6, seeing how that is the newest car they have.

That's exactly what I need, another SUV...

I've been reading a few articles on Autoblog lately, and it seems the American market is going to be nothing but crossovers and SUVs.
Ford is planning to stop producing all cars that aren't crossovers/SUVs in the US, other than the Mustang and the new Focus Active.
Chrysler is looking to stop producing the 300 and Charger.
GM has apparently been thinking about axing a lot of models, starting with the Chevy Sonic, Impala and Volt, Buick LaCrosse, and Cadillac XTS and CT6.

If the big three do this, there will basically be no American sedans left, which leaves the market to the Korean and Japanese companies, if they don't decide to do the same thing.

Are the engine names on this car really correct? I can't find proof of the I-4 and V6 being from Mazda and Toyota. What's more, the 1MZ-FE engine from Toyota was in cars between 1993 and 2006, so I highly doubt that it would appear in a 2015+ top-of-the-line Jaguar.
