Can't believe that Quattroporte and Ghibli have bad sales so they have to introduce SUV...

Except they aren't bad. In fact, globally, the last two years have been the best sales years in the marque's history. (36,448 in 2014, 32,474 in 2015). The introduction of the Levante is only guaranteed to break those records even further.

Though, when you take into consideration that the Levante was technically (in concept form) unveiled two years before either the current Quattrpoorte or Ghibli were unveiled, and global sales were only at 6,159 in 2011, more than 2,000 lower than 2008, then yes...Maserati sales WERE bad enough that they had to introduce an SUV, though tales took off well before they even introduced the production version (only incremental to 6,288 in 2012, but skyrocketed to 15,393 in 2013), which means that the goal is not to stop a sales slide, but rather to bolster record-setting sales numbers and take them even further.

I like Jaguar and Maserati but these F-Pace and Levante are just funny copy of Range Rover/Sport/Evoque.
They all saw they alongside Grand Wagoneer and Cherokee have success and now all aboard hype train.
Why they don't copy Lamborghini LM002 or Mercedes G or Defender? Oh i know why...

in other hand, i like this Levante. I prefer that at a Touareg or a Cayenne.

Of the big luxury marques, I think only Aston Martin, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce are left not having an SUV. (As Lamborghini wants to build the Urus)
It's very likely everyone and their mother will sell SUVs in the future though...

Aston Martin and Rolls Royce will make an SUV also. There is already the concept DBX to annouce it for Aston Martin. And Rolls- Royce had annouced a SUV for 2018
