Actually it was a cooperation between Mazda and Suzuki. The engine is also from Suzuki. So it isn't a clone.

a german site says that a dutch guy imported it from UK. So is it possible that this was sold in UK? can someone confirm that?

the car has been imported a lot, and many left-hand driven conversions were done. So the car was probably imported to the UK, and then to the Netherlands.
