if you hear what the people in the video say, they say it's possible that the Toyota was unable to see the Deltawing. There is no explanation of Nakajima though, so we don't know for sure if he saw the Deltawing or not.

I guess you're right, after seeing a video of Motoyama trying to repair the Deltawing on his own for 2 hours, I was almost in tears.
