First production Prius to offer all wheel drive, with a new AWD-e system that is expected to have a 52 city/48 highway/50 combined fuel economy rating, because AWD-e is, as the nomenclature indicates, is electric, not gasoline powered. That's only a 2 mpg drop compared to most FWD Prius models (other than the L Eco, which is expected to be rated at 58/53/56), which isn't a lot for an AWD model, most AWD options drop fuel economy a good bit more than that, and it's still a 50 MPG car with the system.
It's also a bit better looking, though still not as sleek as the Prius Prime. |

Interestingly, even though it's Wrangler based, it will receive an Overland trim instead of a Sahara trim, making it the first Jeep to come in both Overland and Rubicon trim levels.
|
||
|
Grand Touring trim will feature an EcoBoost hybrid powertrain with an impressive 450hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. I'm assuming that engine will be Lincoln exclusive, like the current 400 hp EcoBoost and won't carry over to it's upcoming Ford Explorer relative.

Interesting fact: This concept formed the basis for Hot Wheels' Dodge Caravan casting, not the street model.

When people hear the Pacifica nameplate, they think of the mid-00's CUV that used the nameplate, but the reality is...today's Pacifica minivan actually owes it's existence to this concept, based on the Town & Country of the era with LHS styling cues.
The Pacifica that went into production 3-4 years later? That draws it's lineage back to the Citadel concept from the same year as this, which evolved into the 2002 Pacifica concept that previewed the production model. Now, the Pacifica nameplate has gone back to it's minivan roots, while the Citadel nameplate has been re-assigned as a top of the line Dodge Durango trim level. Full circle, I'd say. |

While the California Cruiser didn't go into production, it did have a direct influence on the production vehicle, with the scalloped headlights and round foglamps making their way onto the facelifted 2006 PT Cruiser.

Alero? Pretty sure this one has Intrigue badging on the rear.

Indeed, with a bit of Saab in it as well. Looks better than how the production Dodge Shadow convertible looks, for sure.

Well, BMW has done a pretty good job with their other SUVs, especially the latest X5. They took that, made the kidney grilles bigger, but not as monstrously large as we see on the X7, and the whole thing actually looks like a BMW.
The X7's grille should have been made to look more like that of the smaller X5, it's a good medium for the design. |
||
|
Not only that, it hardly looks like a BMW to start with. It looks like they slapped a Hofmeister Kink and an ugly nose on a Mercedes-Benz body.

Just like the Sierra, this generation of Silverado is still in production, solely built in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada as the 2019 Silverado LD, so I have edited this to reflect that.

Edited to reflect this as still being in production. GMC is assembling this generation in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada as the Sierra 1500 Limited (I simply set a second name as Sierra Limited, since this isn't listed here as Sierra 1500) for the 2019 model year, and is currently on sale.

Would the CHEVROLET across the grille (as opposed to the bowtie on the center of the grille) on Custom and Custom Trail Boss trims (WT being a commercial-focused but not solely commercial only model, not sure if it would be allowed on here) be enough to warrant them being placed in as a 'Trim Difference'?

Probably a version of the Duratec 20.
The Ford USA website simply calls it a 2.0L GDI. -- Last edit: 2018-10-07 23:54:18 |

Since when was the Fiesta built in Tennessee? Ford doesn't even have an assembly plant in that state.

Update: Though it's not listed on the Japanese VW website, I can confirm that the Dune WAS sold in Japan officially, as I've found RHD Dunes on Goo-Net, confirming it's availability, so Japan can be changed to a YES.

Well, if a Sorento can go off road with only light modifications (off road tires, skid plates, and disconnected sway bars), a bone stock Telluride should do just as well.

Gotta say, this is a car for the US to be proud of. Not long after the original concept debuted, most wrote this off as no more than a one off that couldn't be produced, but instead, SSC spent all of these years since developing and testing the engine, updating the design to this production ready look while still remaining true to concept.
It's gonna be awesome seeing this thing unleashed to top speed. |

Such a shame that, unlike Genesis, this car doesn't get it's own unique look, instead looking like a copy of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class with an interior that looks part S-Class and part 7 Series. It's not ugly, it's just too derivative.

It's a Korean market Koleos, simple as that, just like the predecessor QM5.

Now this is how you do the whole 'coupe-crossover' style. It's got some similarity to the GLE Coupe in the rear, but overall the new Renault design language really translates well to this kinda thing. Based on the Kaptur (not the smaller Captur), apparently.

Should be 2014 only, 2015+ (2016+ model year in the US) Escalades have the new Cadillac crest, and apparently the chrome around the lower intake was also slimmed down a bit. 2017 model year and newer models have an updated grille and headlights, while the center console was redesigned for the 2018 model year.

Won't be on sale in Canada until August 24th. Also, the Canadian market will get an exclusive Black Edition model, similar in look to the Black Edition offered on the Ridgeline.

This Japanese commercial has both the saloon and the Kombi versions, but the Kombi only shows up at the end, so I wasn't sure if it was worth posting on that version's page for the 2 or so seconds it appears.
|

Didn't expect this to show up on YT, a Japanese market ad for the 1983 Z28E (E standing for European specification).
|

Only one commercial for this car on YouTube, but two versions where the only difference is the ending. In the one posted here, the Autozam logo at the end appears in a domino-like fashion, while the other simply shows the logo without special effect. I chose to add the effect version instead, it's got a little extra charm to it.

Definitely has to be a coincidence. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if both this and that generation of Grand Am (mostly the Pontiac) influenced the rear of the second generation Chrysler Concorde.
|
||

Anyone ever notice how similar the back end of the Clef is to a Pontiac Grand Am of the same time period? Not virtually identical, but there's some very clear similarities.

Fifth member of Honda's H-Family of kei cars, I take it? Nice to see them continuing to be dedicated to expanding the lineup. Is it supposed to be a Vamos and/or Vamos Hobio replacement, or something to compliment the Acty lineup, similar to how the Daihatsu Hijet Caddie (commercial variant of the Wake) compliments the Hijet lineup?

Also a first for the US specification 3, the availability of an evolution of Mazda's i-Activ AWD system.
It's not a complete game changer on the worldwide market, but for the US market, it certainly is. Also, the 6-speed SkyActiv-MT manual transmission will remain an option, along with the 6-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic.
